Skilled trades career fairs visiting more cities this fall

TORONTO — Starting in September, the Ontario government is expanding its skilled trades career fairs with outreach including Hamilton, Windsor, Sault Ste. Marie, Oshawa and Dryden. The fairs will also feature more exhibitors and twice as many participating students.

Now in its second year, Level Up! is a series of multi-day career fairs highlighting the 144 skilled trades, from electricians to boilermakers. Over 25,000 students in grades 7 to 12, as well as parents and jobseekers, will have the opportunity to learn about these trades through exhibitions and hands-on activities while hearing from tradespeople and local employers, a release indicates.

Career fairs are taking place in 10 communities between Sept. 19 and Nov. 29:

• • Thunder Bay – Sept. 19 and 20
  • Sault Ste Marie – Sept. 27 and 28
  • Sudbury – Oct. 3 and 4
  • Dryden – Oct. 17
  • Hamilton – Oct. 17 and 18
  • Windsor – Oct. 25 and 26
  • London – Nov. 1 and 2
  • Mississauga – Nov. 15 and 16
  • Oshawa – Nov. 21 and 22
  • Ottawa – Nov. 28 and 29.
