TORONTO — Metrolinx has announced the completion of improvements to the Agincourt and Milliken GO stations on the Stouffville GO line in the Greater Toronto Region.
The work, which is part of the GO Expansion program, also includes track and other upgrades geared to implementing two-way all-day GO Train service, stated a release.
Work at the Milliken GO Station included a major grade separation with the construction of a rail-over-road underpass. Bike lanes were added and Steeles Avenue was expanded from four to six lanes.
The Agincourt GO Station project introduced accessibility and amenities upgrades including improved pick-up and drop-off infrastructure, a new second track and platform along with a renovated existing platform.
Two new pedestrian tunnels equipped with elevators and stairs were built, canopies and other shelter protection were introduced, and elevated walkways now connect passengers with Sheppard Avenue at the south end of the platforms.
The work complements similar work completed on the same line at Unionville Go Station earlier this year.
