SASKATOON, SASK. — Graham Construction has been selected for the St. Paul’s Hospital Front Entrance Expansion project through a two-stage procurement process in Saskatoon.
A request for qualifications process resulted in Graham Construction and PCL Construction Management Inc. moving forward with a request for proposals and Graham Construction was ultimately selected as the successful team.
“With the announcement of Graham Construction coming onboard, the Saskatchewan Health Authority is pleased to see the project move forward with construction, turning our vision into reality. The new front entrance will improve safety while also creating a welcoming and inclusive space for patients and visitors to St. Paul’s Hospital,” Saskatchewan Health Authority vice-president of finance and CFO Kelly Thompson said in a press release.
The project includes a 8,353-square-foot expansion with an accessible and expanded front entrance along with 6,609 square feet of interior renovations supporting the relocation of the patient registration, security and information areas along with additional washrooms and a relocated gift shop.
A healing centre is located in the front entrance for First Nations and Métis citizens to access for ceremony.
Graham Construction was founded in Saskatchewan in 1926 and previous health infrastructure projects include the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, the Southwest Integrated Healthcare Facility in Maple Creek, and the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon.
Construction is expected to begin this fall and be completed in fall 2025.
