SALMON ARM, B.C. — The Salmon River Bridge located on the 10th Avenue S.W. frontage road in Salmon Arm will be closed from early January until March 31, 2024, for essential rehabilitation work.
This closure is part of a larger effort to extend the lifespan of the bridge, with a contract of $1 million awarded to Hanna Infrastructure Ltd. for the undertaking.
During the closure period, access to businesses along 10th Avenue S.W. will be maintained through the 30th Street S.W. exit off Highway 1.
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure urges drivers to exercise caution, adhere to posted signs, and remain vigilant for roadside workers throughout the duration of the project.
The rehabilitation work aims not only to extend the bridge’s functionality but also to ensure continued safety and reliability for the motorists and the local community relying on this infrastructure.
The project’s completion is anticipated by the end of March 2024, aiming for minimal long-term impact and improved structural integrity of the Salmon River Bridge.
