TORONTO – Parents looking for something fun and educational for their kids to do this summer can sign them up for Skills Ontario trades and tech summer camps.
The camps, held weekly throughout July and August across Ontario, are designed for students entering Grades 7 to 9.
Through hands-on activities related to skilled trades, campers will develop communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills and explore skilled trades through interactive games, tours and entrepreneurship programs.
The camps are organized in partnership with colleges, industries and community volunteers, all dedicated to providing campers with an exceptional hands-on experience, a release indicates.
“Our camps provide a fantastic opportunity to add an educational twist to summer vacations,” said Ian Howcroft, CEO of Skills Ontario, in a statement. “Campers participate in hands-on workshops led by Skills Ontario counselors and industry professionals, exploring a range of topics in an industrial, construction, motive power, service and technology sectors.”
