WIC fundraising drive supports Zimbabwe water project

ST. JOHN’S — The Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association is throwing its weight behind a fundraising initiative to support a high school in Zimbabwe.

The association is publicizing a fundraising drive of the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Conference, which has declared that its charity of choice is the Adopt a Village Project at Tshelanyemba High School in Zimbabwe.

The project aims to provide essential plumbing and sanitation facilities for the girls who live at the school during the week, as they reside too far away to walk home safely each day. To achieve the goal, they need to install a 5000-litre water tank to ensure a reliable water supply.

“Your generous donations will directly contribute to improving the living conditions and overall well-being of these students,” stated the WIC plea.

Donations can be made by selecting the “register” link here.
