Tillsonburg long-term care home project breaks ground

TILLSONBURG, ONT. — Construction is underway on the new peopleCare Tillsonburg 160-bed long-term care home project.

This project was a recipient of the Construction Funding Subsidy top-up.

The new home will feature a three-storey building with a floor area of 2,950 square metres, states a release.

The design is centred around five “resident home areas,” each of which creates a more intimate and familiar living space for up to 32 residents, with dining and activity areas, lounges and living spaces.

Amenities are slated to include a bistro, chapel, dining and activity rooms, balconies, a courtyard, outdoor spaces, a therapy room, hair salon and a family stay-over room.

The home is expected to welcome its first residents in late 2026.
