Letter to the editor

Re: Letter: Doubts about BIM benefits (DCN, April 14)

The article that the reader was questioning contains many quotations that are taken out of context, incomplete, or incorrect.

The author attempted to paraphrase a lengthy presentation with many visual examples and supporting graphs into the published article.

For the record: I did not authorize or review it prior to publication. If I had, I would have corrected the inaccuracies that the reader has commented on.

I would like to clarify two of the articles points. First, our early use of BIM was confined to visualization for proof of concept, not the more robust uses we see today.

Second, the article incorrectly implied that Crate & Barrel is not doing anything with respect to sustainability. We have many sustainable initiatives as a company but we have not yet linked these to BIM.
