VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA), in partnership with Canadian Construction Women (CCW), is hosting the second annual LEAP: Women in Construction Conference on March 7.
Taking place at the Pan Pacific Vancouver, the event coincides with International Women’s Day and aims to inspire and empower women within the construction sector, states a release.
It will provide a platform for learning, networkin, and fostering a sense of community among women in construction.
This year’s theme is Building Futures and is meant to reflect a commitment to elevating and uplifting women by encouraging them to take bold steps forward in their careers.
The event begins at 8 a.m. and runs until 6:30 p.m.
The keynote speaker will be Michelle Cederberg, a high-performance coach and author of “The Success Energy Equation.” She will share insights on optimizing performance in today’s world.
There is a career development session with Jillian Climie of Thoughtful Co. and toolbox sessions, which are focused discussions on leadership under pressure, embracing self-compassion, amplifying strengths, and repairing trust. The sessions feature experts like Dr. Kathleen Burke, Melanie Steele, Sara Schlipp-Reidel and Polina Kouzmina.
“LEAP is more than a conference, it’s a movement to empower women in construction to reach new heights,” said Jeannine Martin, president of VRCA, in a statement. “We are thrilled to offer a space where women can connect, learn and inspire each other to build successful futures in this dynamic industry.”
