PHOTO: Bird Construction works on Berczy condos in Toronto

Exterior work continues on the Berczy condos on Front Street in Toronto, Ont. Owner Concert Properties Ltd. and general contractor Bird Construction Company have completion of the 13-storey, 166-unit project designed to meet LEED Gold certification mid-2013.

The project will also include a lounge, theatre, sauna/steam room, guest suites and three levels of underground parking.

The project was designed by Young + Wright/IBI Group Architects. Consultants are: Jablonsky Ast & Partners (structural); M.V. Shore Associates (1993) Ltd. (mechanical); Trace Engineering Ltd. (electrical); ERA Architects Inc. (heritage); du Toit Allsopp Hillier (landscape) and Union31 Inc. (interior design).

Subcontractors include: Magine Construction Inc. (excavation); Drillco Foundation Co Ltd. (shoring/caissons); Verdi Inc. (formwork); Quest Steel (structural steel); Salit Steel (rebar); Dufferin Concrete (concrete); Limen Group Ltd. (masonry); Malfar Mechanical Inc. (mechanical); Speedy Electrical Contractors Ltd. (electrical); Alliance Waterproofing (roofing), Toro Aluminum (windows); and ThyssenKrupp Elevator Ltd. (elevators).
