TORONTO—A new leadership team has been elected to head up the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL).
During the OFL’s Biennial Convention, 1,539 delegates elected the #FEDFORWARD Team, which means Chris Buckley of Unifor will be president, Patty Coates of the Ontario Secondary Schools Teachers’ Federation secretary-treasurer and Ahmad Gaied, executive vice-president.
This marks the end of six years of leadership from outgoing OFL president Sid Ryan, along with secretary-treasurer Nancy Hutchison and executive vice-president Irwin Nanda.
At 33 years old, newly elected Gaied, is the youngest officer in the 58-year history of the OFL.
