Scope
Demolition, site work and new construction of an elderly care / assisted living facility in Drumheller, Alberta. Completed plans call for the demolition of a elderly care / assisted living facility; for the construction of a elderly care / assisted living facility; and for site work for a elderly care / assisted living facility. This project is a collaborative public development between the ministries of Seniors and Housing (SH) and Health (AH). The intention is to increase continuing care capacity in Drumheller, Alberta by incorporating continuing care spaces in seniors lodges. The scope of this project includes the redevelopment and expansion of the existing Sunshine Lodge and Hillview Lodge. This scope includes: 1. The demolition and replacement of the 500 wing of Sunshine Lodge. The existing 500 wing includes 16 units, 1 shower/tub room. The replacement will consist of 12-14 single units. 2. A new commercial kitchen for Sunshine Lodge. 3. Adding 26 new designated supportive living level 4 (DSL4) spaces added to Hillview Lodge. The new facility will be designed and constructed to a B3 occupancy classification as defined by Alberta Building Code. The construction is expected to be completed by Spring of 2024.
