New Emergency Generator Building Project

Scope

Renovation and addition to a medical facility in North York, Ontario. Completed plans call for the addition of a medical facility; and for the renovation of a medical facility. This RFP is being issued by Shared Services West ("SSW") On behalf of Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care ("BCGC") to obtain Proposals from qualified general contractors for the construction of the new Emergency Generator Building. The scope of work includes the construction of a new Generator building housing two generators as well as the upgrade of the normal and emergency electrical infrastructure which is fed from central high voltage room located in the sub-basement level of the Hospital Building. The existing systems electrical infrastructure is currently supported by generators, switch gear, and transformers which date back to the mid-1960s. A carefully planned approach is needed to mitigate the impact of non-planned electrical outages.
