RFQ Contractor - Prescott and Russell Residence Redevelopment Project

Scope

New construction of an elderly care / assisted living facility in Hawkesbury, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 198,000-square-foot, three-story above grade, 224-bed elderly care / assisted living facility. The United Counties of Prescott and Russell are requesting pre-qualification submissions from interested General Contractors with relevant healthcare/long-term care experience for the Redevelopment of a new 224-bed Prescott and Russell Residence in Hawkesbury, Ontario. The Prescott and Russell Residence is a 146 bed municipal long-term care home located in Hawkesbury, Ontario that is administered by the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR). Through the Ministry of Long-Term Care's Capital Redevelopment Program, the UCPR have been working with the Ministry for the design of a new home to replace the existing Residence. The new Residence will be 198,000 ft2 combined three-storey and two-storey 224 bed facility grouped into six Resident Home Areas (RHA) of 32 beds each, a Specialized RHA of 20 beds for residents with significant mental health challenges and one additional smaller RHA of 12 beds to address the needs of residents with more complex needs who benefit from smaller social groupings. Approval from the Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC) to tender is anticipated to be received in Summer 2020, after which the tender package will be provided to the prequalified bidders. Contract award is anticipated in the late Summer 2020 following approval from the MLTC with a requirement to achieve Substantial Performance prior to the end of 2022.
