Scope

Site work and renovation of a civil project in Byng Inlet, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project. Reference Number - 0000263680 Question Deadline:04/03/2024 at 3:00 PM ETQuestions are submitted online - No The Magnetawan First Nation (Magnetawan) is seeking bids from General Contractors for the supply and installation of a new water and wastewater treatment system to replace their existing treatment systems and to service their Community. Magnetawan is an indigenous Community that is located in Central Ontario approximately 100 kilometers south of Sudbury and 60 kilometers north of Parry Sound along Highway No. 69 (Trans-Canada Highway). The Project Management Team (PMT) includes representatives of the Owner (Magnetawan), the Third-Party Project Manager (FHR Inc.), the Technical Service Advisor (Waabnoong Bemjiwang Association of First Nations (WBAFN)), the Funding Agency (Indigenous Services Canada (ISC)), and the Engineer / Contract Administrator (Neegan Burnside Ltd.). The project consists of two (2) separate lots; one (1) for Water System Upgrades and the other for Wastewater System Upgrades. Lot 1 - Water System Upgrades The Lot 1 project includes but is not limited to the following proposed works: Approximately 75 m of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) raw water pipe and intake within the Magnetawan River / Byng Inlet. Low lift pumping station (LLPS) upgrades consisting of replacement of raw water pumps, piping, valves, and electrical controls. Water Treatment Plant (WTP): Two-story tall concrete block building complete with metal roof; Pre-selected water treatment system (membrane ultrafiltration and membrane nanofiltration); Process piping and valves; Two-stage primary disinfection system (ultraviolet (UV) disinfection and chemical addition / dosing); High lift pumps and two (2) ULC rated fire pumps; Pressure tanks; Grade level water storage reservoir (standpipe) consisting of a glass-fused-to-steel tank with insulation and electric mixer; Heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system; Building automation system (BAS); Instrumentation and controls; and Extension of three-phase power to the proposed WTP site. Diesel standby generator complete with Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS). Removal and demolition of existing equipment within existing WTP and related components along with reconfiguring the existing building into a storage facility. Lot 2 - Wastewater System Upgrades: The Lot 2 project includes but is not limited to the following proposed works: Construction of a membrane bioreactor (MBR) wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and modular building, consisting of a pre-selected system composed of membrane filtration, screenings, blower, pumping, chemical, laboratory, and electrical / control rooms.Four (4) exterior, grade level, glass-fused-to-steel tanks: one(1) equalization (EQ) tank; two (2) aeration treatment tanks; and one (1) sludge holding tank. Replacement of the existing Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) with a prefabricated, fiberglass re-enforced plastic (FRP) wet well complete with an adjacent metering chamber along with approximately 250 m high-density polyethylene (HDPE) forcemain.
