Scope
Site work and new construction of a medical facility in Markdale, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 78,000-square-foot, one-story above grade medical facility; and for site work for a medical facility. The Ministry of Health is expected to approve the bid within the next few months. Once the contract is awarded, the name of the winning bid will be publicly announced. For the construction of the new Markdale Hospital project, a greenfield project located in the town of Markdale. Located in the town of Markdale, 2 hrs (150 km) North West of Toronto and 35 minutes (40 km) South East of Owen Sound, in Grey County, the proposed new hospital will be a single storey structure with a full lower level and a mechanical penthouse. It will have a gross floor area of approximately 78,000 square feet. The build is expected to cost $65 million and will include 68,000 square feet of space and will include four acute care beds, a palliative care room, 24/7 emergency room with four exam and treatment areas, laboratory, diagnostic imaging services, physiotherapy, space for ambulatory care clinics, and two ambulance bays. Construction of the new hospital is expected to begin in late 2020 and will take approximately two years to complete. Bid value not released for publication.
