RFQ Contractor - Centenary Emergency Department Project Contractor Prequalification

Scope

Site work, renovation and addition to a medical facility in Toronto, Ontario. Completed plans call for the addition of a 36,400-square-foot medical facility; for the renovation of a 28,300-square-foot medical facility; and for site work for a medical facility. REQUEST FOR SUPPLIER QUALIFICATIONS (RFSQ) for SHN Centenary Emergency Department Project. The Scarborough Health Network (SHN) invites all general, mechanical, and electrical contractors to review the RFP documents for the Centenary Emergency Department Project for prequalification. Scarborough Health Networks Centenary Hospital Emergency Department Expansion Project features an innovative front-end model that borrows concepts from Design Thinking and LEAN to streamline the entire patient journey. This new model, co-created with the SHN team, is based on a "front-end model of care" that shifts the patient-doctor encounter that traditionally occurs near the end of the process to the beginning of the patient's journey. Modernizing space in an active hospital is among the most challenging work in the construction industry. Managing interim life safety measures, micro-phasing, and coordination of construction adjacent to life or death procedures requires an experienced group of people with knowledge of hospital operations but more importantly, our Emergency Departments requirement to maintain 100% functionality during the entire construction process. Online Portal Proponents must submit requests for clarification/questions through the Bonfire Q & A Board to the Bid Administrator, or as may otherwise be directed by the Bid Administrator. The construction of the project will be implemented in five phases to allow for uninterrupted and safe hospital operations throughout. The 65,000 sq. ft. project is comprised of 36,400 sq. ft. building expansion as well as 28,300 sq. ft. of renovations and also includes a new Cardiac Diagnostics & Arrhythmia Clinic and Fracture Clinic.
