Construction has reached the top floor on the addition to Greenwood College School in Toronto.
Graham Construction is general contractor of the four-storey project that will have a learning commons for quiet independent study, a new performing arts theatre, a new gymnasium with retractable seating, a green roof, an outdoor classroom and terrace, three modern fully-equipped science labs, a new digital media area, new music and visual arts studios, and a new fitness room.
The owner’s project manager is Turner & Townsend and it is designed to meet LEED gold certification. The architect is Montgomery Sisam Architects and consultants are: Read Jones Christoffersen (structural); MMM Group (mechanical/electrical) and Terraprobe (inspection/testing/environmental). Subtrades include: North River (excavation); Pro Caissons (shoring); Innocon Inc. (concrete); Net Drywall; Aurora Forming (formwork); Bernel Masonry; Zet Master (flooring); PHE (electrical/communication); Pipe All (plumbing/HVAC); Vipond Fire Protection; Sherwood Windows and Roque (roofing).
