HAMILTON, ONT. — The Hamilton-Halton Construction Association’s (HHCA) Women in Construction Group recently held a Designer Bag Bingo fundraiser, raising more than $5,700 for the HHCA Legacy Build 2020.
The Legacy Build is the sponsorship of a home build with Habitat Hamilton in celebration of the association’s 100th anniversary in 2020. To date more than $70,000 has been raised towards the goal of $200,000.
The fundraiser featured 12 games of bingo and attracted more than 140 players, all hoping to win a designer handbag.
More than 10 sponsors supported the event including the Columbus Club of Hamilton, who donated the space and The Hamilton Store who supplied a door prize, Skeates Contracting, Masters Insurance, DJB Chartered Professional Accountants, Aon Risk Solutions, Lancaster Group, Ira McDonald Construction, Triple Crown Enterprises and JNE Consulting.
“Support for this event was really overwhelming, everyone loves bingo, and Habitat,” said Sue Ramsay, general manager of HHCA, in a statement. “Our membership was out in force but so was the local community, and that’s what we want, community events for a community cause.”
