PCA announces new Ontario director of public affairs

TORONTO — The Progressive Contractors Association of Canada (PCA) recently announced it has appointed Stephen Hamilton as its new director of public affairs in Ontario.

Hamilton previously served as a senior policy adviser on municipal and planning issues at Ontario’s Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, stated an Oct. 19 release. He also worked for a decade in stakeholder and government relations at the Ontario Home Builders’ Association. He has an MA from Dalhousie University in public policy.

“I am very pleased to have such an experienced government relations professional join our team,” said Karen Renkema, vice-president, Ontario for the PCA, in a statement. “Stephen brings extensive industry knowledge, integrity and fantastic relationships that he’s built over the years. His industry acumen will be instrumental in our drive to keep Ontario’s construction market fair, open and competitive.”

“I’m delighted to join a national team that’s dedicated to ensuring all contractors and workers have an opportunity to build Ontario’s infrastructure and economy,” said Hamilton. “I look forward to serving PCA members by continuing to work collaboratively with both industry stakeholders and government.”
