MCAHN contributes $20,000 in charitable donations

SOUTHERN ONTARIOThe Mechanical Contractors Association of Hamilton Niagara (MCAHN) directed two rounds of financial support to 10 charities in the six municipalities its members serve throughout the year. The total donation of $20,000 also included a $5,000 matching donation from its provincial office, MCA Ontario.

The funds, which the association refers to as ‘COVID kindness,’ will go to feeding those in need, supporting front-line health care professionals, reinforcing the well-being of seniors and recognizing the needs of children this Christmas.

Charitable gifts were directed to:

  • Burlington Food Bank
  • Caledonia and District Food Bank
  • CHCH Toy Drive – Christmas Miracle
  • Community Resource Service – Brantford Food Bank
  • Hamilton Food Share
  • Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation

  • The Salvation Army – Simcoe

“Our ‘essential’ construction labour force and member employers have experienced the impact of pandemic closures in the region,” said Greg Crawford, MCAHN 2020 president, in a statement. Over several months of adapting to temporary stoppages and delays, our workforce slowly began to regain and recover momentum all the while recognizing that other economic sectors remained restricted because of COVID conditions. Our goal was to send some aid and assistance to those less fortunate this year. With the support of our local area employers, and our provincial office, our association remains committed to being a strong, positive voice in the communities in which our members build, live, work and play.”
