Celebrating Black excellence in construction

TORONTO — Representing numerous facets of the industry, from drywallers to pipefitters to carpenters, the men highlighted in this special feature carry with them a wealth of experience and are a shining example for future generations looking at a career in construction.

As part of the commemoration of Black History Month, the Toronto Community Benefits Network (TCBN) profiled these individuals as a way to celebrate the achievements of leading Black men in the construction sector.

TCBN, a coalition of 120 members from community and labour organizations, groups and social enterprises, includes 10 of Ontario’s largest construction unions.

These men are representatives from some of those unions.

In addition to this industry snapshot, several of these men will also be taking part in a candid roundtable discussion during a special Black History Month episode of The Construction Record podcast on Feb. 26.

Profile descriptions provided by the Toronto Community Benefits Network.
