EACO changes brand to EACC
The Environmental Abatement Council of Ontario has announced it has officially changed its name to the Environmental Abatement Council of Canada. The change took effect June 10. A statement said the change is the next step in the council’s plan to becoming recognized as the leading Canadian organization representing the environmental abatement industry.

The federal government and the City of Toronto have scheduled a major housing announcement for this morning. The event will take place at 11:15 a.m.
National home sales decline in May
Statistics released yesterday by the Canadian Real Estate Association showed national home sales and new listings were both down between April and May 2021. Home sales recorded over Canadian MLS Systems fell by 7.4 per cent month-over month in May 2021, building on the 11 per cent decline recorded in April. Activity nonetheless remains historically high, but in contrast to March’s all-time record it is now running closer to levels seen in the second half of 2020.
Skills Ontario sets Guinness record for screwdriver passing
Skills Ontario has announced it has set a Guinness World Record for the largest online video chain of people passing and using a screwdriver. The organization will host a celebration event on its official YouTube channel this morning. The Daily Commercial News will have more on this story.
