PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND—The Construction Association of Prince Edward Island (CAPEI) recently held a Girls Exploring Trades and Technology camp for girls ages 12 to 17.
Nine girls varying in ages attended the program where they learned a new skill everyday.
On the first day, they designed, built and tested popsicle stick bridges.
They had a few materials to use for this activity such as marshmallows, spaghetti noodles, sticky tack, tape and popsicle sticks.
They all passed the first weight test and one succeeded in holding everything put on it.
Other activities included wiring up electrical panels, building toolkits and shelves, painting their creations and creating safe carriers for eggs.
