Conestoga-Rovers, Inspec-Sol join GHD

WATERLOO, ONT.—Conestoga-Rovers & Associates (CRA) and GHD have joined as one company under the GHD brand.

The merger, which became official on July 2, includes CRA’s family of companies, including Inspec-Sol, making GHD one of the leading privately-owned engineering, environmental and construction services companies, with more than 8,500 employees and 200 locations, globally, states a release.

"This is one of the largest true mergers to have occurred in our industry," said GHD CEO Ian Shepherd, adding that the merger has already presented numerous opportunities to deliver additional value for their clients.

"As part of our integration, we have combined systems and processes, building on the best practices of both organizations," said Steve Quigley, GHD’s general manager in North America and formerly CRA principal.

Joining with CRA positions GHD for further growth as it continues to expand its services across its clients’ asset value chain, said Shepherd.

CRA’s signature projects include: Beauharnois Bridge; the Montreal South Shore Bypass; Lac-Megantic derailment, in Quebec; Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre & Field House, Green Lane Landfill, in Toronto; and the Chemtura Remediation Program, in Elmira, Ont.
