MISSISSAUGA, ONT. — EllisDon has announced the appointment of Steve Chaplin to the role of vice-president of health, safety and environment.
Chaplin will be reporting directly to Geoff Smith, the firm’s president and CEO, and will be responsible for health and safety compliance through training, reporting and program implementation, said a Feb. 20 media statement.
Chaplin has been working in the resource and heavy industries for 30 years and has experience in operations, health and safety, organizational design, environmental management, stewardship plans and working with non-government organizations. He has held leadership roles in operations and health and safety with both public and not-for-profit organizations.
Prior to joining EllisDon, Chaplin was vice-president with similar responsibilities at Acciona. He holds a Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation.
