Cansel acquires Ontario and Alberta business of Trenchless

TORONTO — Canadian engineering firm Cansel recently announced it has acquired the precision location business of Burlington, Ont.-based Trenchless Utility Equipment Inc. in Ontario and Alberta.

Cansel is a software, hardware and service provider to the engineering, surveying, construction, architecture, government and printing industries, said a recent statement. The firm is active in the protection of underground utility infrastructure.

Trenchless is a Canadian distributor of directional drilling, inspection and underground construction equipment.

“This acquisition is a significant one for Cansel that further enhances our already comprehensive portfolio,” said Cansel vice-president Martin Trudelle in the statement. “It aligns with our strategy to position Cansel as a market leader by offering integrated solutions to our clients to help better manage above and below ground infrastructure. Our objective is to leverage our expertise in above ground locating solutions developed in partnership with Trimble and provide complete solutions based on radiodetection technology for underground infrastructure locating and pipeline inspection.”

“This transaction allows Trenchless to focus on our core horizontal directional drilling business as well as our continued expansion into HydroVac slurry processing,” said Jeff Lyons, Canadian president for Trenchless.
