A revamped version of eCompliance’s Field iD mobile app called Field iD 4.0 was recently launched, and the company says it will perform inspections in volume and create custom real-time reporting to enhance safety on sites for users on the frontlines.
Field iD is a cloud-based inspection system in the eCompliance product family used to inspect assets, equipment and PPE to ensure its safe and efficient use on worksites.
To help industries get through COVID-19, Field iD will be providing new customers with three months free when they sign up for a year or more. It includes upgraded software to effectively track assets digitally and in volume to prevent incidents, asset-related fatalities and optimize equipment lifecycle, indicates a release.
The software update by eCompliance, a Toronto-based safety software company, allows users to work offline, create customized reports and dashboards, log in and see specific assets and inspections based on preference.
The goal was to improve the experience for the end user.
“We focused all of our effort into this new launch, rebuilding the entire experience to be more user-focused, to facilitate them to do things faster and easier,” said Harish Pandian, director of product with eCompliance. “We’ve reimagined this to meet current situation needs. We are seeing a drastic uptake in users, people and organizations trying to explore how do I do this without having to talk to somebody or having to physically hand something over to someone.”
The newest developments are a result of what customers have been asking for, said Pandian.
“Teams will now be able to inspect assets in volume which is a game-changer for our industry,” he said. “We overhauled the search experience, we enhanced our offline capabilities and the speed of the app and enhanced the user experience. All of these are not tangible features, but they are making the app extremely simple, easy and fast so that people can do actually more.”
With COVID-19 there has been a big push for companies to digitize all aspects of their business. The updated technology will help the construction, electrical, oil and gas and mining industries make asset management such as fleets, inspecting and managing equipment and making COVID-related inspections, such as wiping down high touch areas, more efficient.
“There is a stronger push now because everyone is not present physically all the time to handle papers and you don’t want to be handling papers for safety reasons,” said Pandian.
“We are starting to see that people are going beyond that and using it for actually meeting the needs today, which is making sure that these assets are maintained in a clean fashion, in an acceptable fashion to make the work environment more safe given the current situation.”
Updated software features include:
- View, navigate and search for places and divisions
- Search for assets within a specific place, or globally, with Search Builder
- View and link assets: events completed on an asset, owner and assignee and attributes
- Perform events on assets such as attaching observations, recommendations, photos, etc.
- Submit events and save it to the cloud
- Identify and edit existing assets
- Enhanced RFID and barcode scanning
- Create event schedules to occur on assets in the future
- My Work Dashboard
