Canada Infrastructure Bank announcement
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is slated to make an announcement with Minister of Infrastructure and Communities Catherine McKenna and chair of the board of the Canada Infrastructure Bank Michael Sabia today at 11 a.m. The Daily Commercial News will be following the story.
Federal funding for Ottawa seniors facility
Today, the International Day of Older Persons, federal Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages Melanie Joly has announced that the federal government has provided $35,000 in funding to Rendez-vous des aines francophones d’Ottawa (RAFO) for renovations to its facilities. RAFO will use this funding, provided through the Community Spaces Fund, to replace the roof and existing insulation of the main hall of its building.
Otis awarded Bloor West contract
Otis Canada announced this morning it has been awarded a contract to supply 23 elevators to the One Bloor West project in Toronto. The project marks Otis’s first installation of its SkyBuild construction elevator in Canada. When completed, the project by Mizrahi Developments will be Canada’s tallest building, at 309 metres.
Watch for Dartmouth housing announcement
The governments of Canada and Nova Scotia will be making an announcement on housing at 11:30 a.m. this morning. The event will take place at Adsum House in Dartmouth.
Laprairie buys two crane specialist firms
Laprairie Group of Companies, a Canadian-owned crane, transportation and logistics company based in Calgary, this morning announced the acquisitions of Entrec Alberta Ltd. and Capstan Hauling, both divisions of Entrec Corporation, a crane and specialized transportation services firm. The two firms will become subsidiaries of Laprairie and be managed and operated as separate businesses.
