REALPAC offers vacant commercial space for vaccinations
Canada’s commercial real estate industry announced yesterday an initiative to support the national vaccination rollout, by providing governments and health networks across Canada with the free use of vacant commercial space such as retail space in malls, big box space, conference centres, hotels, industrial units, parking lots and office buildings for use as vaccination sites. “The goal is to provide an easily scalable portfolio of real estate assets that can form part of Canada’s distribution network to support the country’s vaccine mobilization effort,” stated REALPAC in a release.
CMHC to release stress test results
Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) will release its 2020 stress testing results today at 11 a.m. EST. Stress testing involves identifying extreme situations and measuring how well CMHC’s business is able to withstand the shocks. The 2020 stress testing exercise focused on scenarios directly related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Governments support well project in New Brunswick
The federal government and the Government of New Brunswick yesterday announced funding to expand the water system in the Village of Memramcook, N.B. The $8.26-million project will convert a test well into a production well in the East Memramcook region. A booster station and a water storage tank will also be constructed in order to provide sufficient water pressure to residents.

Representatives of the federal, provincial and municipal governments will be on hand for what is termed an important infrastructure announcement in Toronto this morning. The event will be held via Zoom at 9:30 a.m.
RAIC accessibility webinar postponed
Today’s webinar on accessible architecture scheduled for 1 p.m. EST has been postponed. The event was to be presented by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and the U.S. Embassy. No future date for the event has been announced.
