McMillan comments on Ontario construction restrictions

McMillan has released analysis of how Ontario’s state of emergency affects the construction sector. The construction law bulletin, written by Jason Annibale and Laura Brazil, is titled Round 2: Ontario State of Emergency Again Restricts Construction. 

 

Cleantech fundraising pays off for e-Zinc

Toronto-based energy storage innovator e-Zinc announced today it has raised $2.3 million in a closed fundraising round led by BDC Capital’s Cleantech Practice. The firm has developed technology for grid-scale energy storage that stores energy in zinc, scaling energy capacity at a lower cost then lithium-ion batteries, states a release, enabling economical energy delivery over a period of multiple days. 

 

OCS announces State of the Industry conference

The Ontario Construction Secretariat has announced details of its Annual State of the Industry and Outlook Conference, to be held March 4. Topics to be discussed include the direction the construction industry is headed in 2021, forecasts for Ontario’s economy, and how COVID-19 has affected health and safety practices in construction.  

 

TCBN to host social inclusion webinar

City Building Ryerson has announced it is co-sponsoring a webinar titled Building Back Better: Community Benefits and Social Inclusion, to be presented Jan. 21. The webinar is being presented by the Toronto Community Benefits Network and moderated by Grace-Edward Galabuzi, associate professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Ryerson University.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford has scheduled an announcement for 1 p.m. today. The event will be streamed live from Vaughan, Ont.
