Ellis wins Chalmers safety award

The Ontario General Contractors Association recently presented Rob Ellis with the Doug Chalmers safety leadership award at Recognition Day, the first day of the three-part OGCA and IHSA Annual Leadership Conference. Watch for coverage of the conference coming soon in the Daily Commercial News. 

 

Singleton appointed chair of Singleton Reynolds

Singleton Urquhart Reynolds Vogel LLP announced today that John Singleton will be promoted to chair of the firm, with Mark Stacey and Bruce Reynolds assuming the roles of managing partners. Singleton has been active in the firm’s construction business, specifically in Western Canada. He founded the firm in 1982 with specialties in construction and infrastructure law. 

 

Crude oil production fell in 2020

Statistics Canada today reported on December energy production in Canada. Oilsands production and renewable energy generation including hydro, wind and solar energy rose, while natural gas, electricity and coal production declined. For the year 2020, Canadian production of crude oil and equivalent products was down 4.5 per cent to 260.0 million cubic metres, the largest annual decline since 1999. 

 

Miles joins RESAAS Services

RESAAS Services Inc., a Vancouver-based technology platform for the real estate industry, today announced the appointment of Randall Miles to the company’s advisory board. Miles is currently vice-chair of the board of directors of eXp World Holdings and managing partner at SCM Capital Group. 

 

Mental health agencies launch campaign: Everything Is Not OK

Several Ontario mental health and addiction organizations launched a new campaign today with the message Everything Is Not OK. The campaign highlights the impacts of COVID-19 on the mental health of children, youths and adults and calls for immediate action by all levels of government to reduce wait times for mental health and addiction services. Organizations include Addictions and Mental Health Ontario, Canadian Mental Health Association Ontario, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Children’s Mental Health Ontario, Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, The Royal and Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care.
