Buildings Canada to host federal budget webinar

Buildings Canada has announced a webinar set for May 4 to discuss the impact of the federal budget delivered April 19. Speakers will include Melissa Aveiro and Am Lidder of MNP LLP. The event is billed as What to Expect from the 2021 Federal Budget, with guidance on the implications of new rules, compliance and enforcement on businesses.

 

Terra View Homes hits milestone

Terra View Homes, a builder of new, custom and net zero homes in Guelph and southwestern Ontario, is marking its 30th year in business this month. Terra View founder Andrew Lambden established the company on April 23, 1991. “The past 30 years have been an incredible journey and I couldn’t be more proud of the Terra View team for what we have been able to accomplish,” said CEO Lambden.

 

Aecon reports higher revenues

Aecon Group Inc. has reported results for the first quarter of 2021 with year-over-year increases in revenue and Adjusted EBITDA, and a backlog of $5.9 billion as at March 31, 2021. Revenue for the three months ended March 31 of $754 million was $7 million, or one per cent higher compared to the same period in 2020.  Adjusted EBITDA of $20.8 million for the first quarter improved by $1.6 million compared to Adjusted EBITDA of $19.2 million in the first quarter of 2020.

 

Phase 2 of Union Village community sold out

Minto Communities GTA and Metropia have announced that Phase 2 of its master-planned Union Village community in Unionville, Ont. has sold out. The second phase features single-family homes, rear-lane townhomes and traditional townhomes with net zero upgrades on some models. Phase 2 is slated for completion in fall 2023.
