STE-ADELE, QUE. — Quebec-based civil engineering firm Equipe Laurence and the Cegep de Saint-Jerome in Ste-Adele, Que. have announced a partnership that will produce a new cohort of draftspersons specializing in civil engineering.
The program will be new to the region, stated a release, and will start in February 2024.
The curriculum will include fundamental concepts of civil engineering fields related to buildings, engineering structures and civil engineering infrastructure, interpretation of overall plans, designs and drawings, using a computer to carry out all the tasks performed by a technical draftsperson, and evaluation of construction materials.
“We dare to hope that Equipe Laurence will have the privilege of welcoming several applications from potential graduates of this formidable training program,” said Alexandre Latour, CEO of Equipe Laurence Latour, in a statement.
Cecep administrator Pierre-Luc Tremblay noted the Cegep has received over 30 letters from municipalities and companies seeking to support the implementation of the training program in the region.
