TORONTO — Arup, an engineering and development consulting firm, has announced the appointment of three new managers for its Canadian business.
Omid Nakhaei now leads Arup Canada’s property, science and industry (PS&I) market portfolio, Julian Astbury has been appointed Arup Canada’s architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical leader, and Mladen Nikolic serves as technology business leader for Canada.
Nakhaei has 20 years of experience leading and delivering major multidisciplinary projects across Canada, Europe and the Middle East. Astbury has three decades of engineering design expertise overseeing diverse teams on large, complex multidisciplinary projects. Mladen also has three decades of experience, in designing and managing complex, multi-use projects.
Within its PS&I portfolio, Arup undertakes design-builds, design-bid-builds, public-private partnerships, integrated project delivery and progressive design build projects. Recent examples include the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Calgary, OmniaBio Phase 1 facility at McMaster Innovation Park in Hamilton, Ottawa Central Library, the Toronto Pearson Airport development, and the University of Toronto at Mississauga’s Centre for Medicinal Chemistry.
