Bryan Tuckey will become president and chief executive officer of the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD)May 22. He replaces Stephen Dupuis, who died last September. Tuckey is associate director of strategic planning for urban planning and landscape architecture firm MHBC and has worked for the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, the cities of Toronto and North York, plus the Regional Municipality of York.
The Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) announced Monday that Bryan Tuckey will take the reins of the Toronto-based developers’ group as president and chief executive officer May 22.
He replaces Stephen Dupuis, who died last September shortly after receiving the David Horton Lifetime Leadership Award of Excellence from the Ontario Home Builders’ Association (OHBA).
Tuckey is associate director of strategic planning for urban planning and landscape architecture firm MHBC, according to the company’s website. Formerly knoww as MacNaughon Planning Consultants, MHBC has offices in Barrie, Kingston, Vaughan, London and Kitchener.
OHBA chief operating office Joe Vaccaro is currently BILD’s acting president and CEO.
In the past, Tuckey has been Commissioner of Planning and Development Services for the Regional Municipality of York, which is the upper tier of local government for several cities and towns north of Toronto, including Markham, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Aurora and Newmarket.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he has a Masters of Environmental Studies, Urban & Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo.
He was also Acting Assistant Deputy Minister at the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. He has been Director of Community Planning for both the City of Toronto and for the City of North York, which ceased to exist in 1998 when Metropolitan Toronto became the City of Toronto.
