TORONTO—Dr. Roger Skinner, regional supervising coroner for Central Region, Toronto West Office, has announced that an inquest is being held into the death of Abdullah Rahmanzadeh at a construction site four years ago.
Rahmanzadeh, 30, died in hospital on Aug. 28, 2014, as a result of injuries sustained on the job, said a Dec. 7 statement. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest was to begin Dec. 10 at the Coroner’s Courts, Forensic Services and Coroner’s Complex at 25 Morton Shulman Ave. in Toronto.
Dr. Robert Boyko was to preside as inquest coroner and Michael Blain was set to be counsel to the coroner.
The inquest was set to examine the circumstances surrounding Rahmanzadeh’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths.
The inquest is expected to last two days and hear from approximately eight witnesses.
