Active transportation for St. John’s

Representatives from the federal government and the government of Newfoundland and Labrador, along with Mayor of St. John’s Danny Breen, will be making an announcement about active transportation infrastructure just after noon today. The event will take place at St. John’s city hall at 12:15 p.m.

 

Timiskaming Bridge work extended

Public Services and Procurement Canada announced yesterday it is extending lane closures at the Timiskaming Quebec Dam Bridge, which connects Highway 63 in Ontario to Route 101 in Quebec, until Dec. 16 as the project timetable has been extended. There will also be periodic sidewalk reductions on the bridge as rehabilitation work on the bridge deck continues.

 

Ford to be joined by health regulators

Ontario Premier Doug Ford will be joined by Minister of Health Christine Elliott, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Williams, Coordinator of the Provincial Outbreak Response Dr. Dirk Huyer and Matthew Anderson, president and CEO of Ontario Health, at his daily media conference today. The event is scheduled for Queen’s Park at 1 p.m.

 

New screening tool required at Ontario workplaces

Lexology today reported on a recent post by SpringLaw describing new obligations Ontario employers have to screen employees. The recent spike in COVID-19 cases has resulted in the Ontario government amending regulations under the Reopening Ontario Act. As of Sept. 26, employers are now required to use the government’s new COVID-19 Screening Tool to assess their employees each time before they enter the workplace.
