Helicopter helps locate suspect after Ajax construction site theft (Video)

AJAX, ONT. — Durham Regional Police helicopter Air1 assisted uniformed officers on the ground helping to locate a suspect who fled following a theft at a construction site in Ajax, Ont. on June 23.

At about 12:57 a.m. members of West Division were advised of a theft in progress at a construction site on Bayly Street East.

According to a release, police quickly responded and located a female suspect and a pickup truck that contained stolen wood from the site. Two male suspects had fled on foot. The Air1 crew located a male suspect attempting to hide in residential backyards on Whitefoot Crescent and with the help of the K-9 Unit, the suspect was taken into custody.

Dana Booth, 22, of Oshawa, is charged with theft under $5,000 and Keith Patterson, 35, of Toronto is charged with theft under $5,000; obstructing a peace officer; and trespassing at night. Police continue to look for a third suspect. The Air1 footage can seen below.
