Arcadis signs five-year asset management deal with MTO

Arcadis signs five-year asset management deal with MTO

TORONTO — Ontario-based Arcadis recently announced it has been awarded a digital asset management contract with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO).

The project encompasses assets including highways, bridges, lighting, traffic signals, overhead signs, northern airports and intelligent transportation systems, stated a release. The deal will be the largest of its kind for Arcadis.

The contract includes a five-year commitment with an additional five-year renewal option. The firm will assist in investment planning and enhance data sharing and operational efficiency for MTO, consolidating assets into a centralized transportation asset management system.

It is expected the services will enable MTO to reduce its environmental footprint. Partners on the project will include Esri Canada, Conectado Solutions and Stantec.

“Digital asset management systems are critical to supporting transportation infrastructure globally and have the added benefit of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, creating a more sustainable transportation system,” stated Arcadis CEO Alan Brookes in a statement. “This contract win represents a significant milestone for our Enterprise Decision Analytics solution and marks a critical update to the transportation infrastructure in Canada’s most populous province.”
