MONTREAL — The City of Montreal has selected WSP to carry out phase two of the Sainte-Catherine Street West redevelopment project.
The work will consist of the redevelopment of a 1.6-kilometre stretch of the street between Peel Street and Atwater Avenue.
WSP will be leading the project with EXP acting as subcontractor. The firms will collaborate to complete preliminary studies, prepare plans and specifications and provide technical assistance and supervision during construction, stated a release.
The project will include urban furniture, green islands and upgraded lighting systems.
“The second phase of the project will transform how people interact with Sainte-Catherine Street, further promoting road sharing between pedestrians, cyclists and motorists,” stated Sophie Menard, regional director of infrastructure at WSP Canada, in a statement. “At the end of the project, in 2031, the entire section between De Bleury and Atwater streets will have been redeveloped, for an even more positive experience for Montrealers and tourists.”
