Hydro One invests in two facilities in Orillia

ORILLIA, ONT. — Hydro One has broken ground on its new Regional Operations Centre and Provincial Warehouse in Orillia, Ont.

Construction on the $120-million buildings will be completed by a joint venture of EBC and Buttcon, stated a recent release. The operations centre is expected to be operational by March 2025 and the warehouse in May 2025.

The 29,000-square-foot operations centre will be home to regional line maintainers and electrical maintainers, while the 120,000-square-foot warehouse will store equipment and other materials to support the local grid and respond to outages.

The two buildings are part of an agreement with the City of Orillia to build three new buildings to improve efficiency and emergency response time in the community. The facilities will be located close to Hydro One’s new provincial grid control centre.
