Fire destroys and damages new homes in Caledon

CALEDON, ONT. — An early morning fire destroyed two houses and damaged others.

The incident occurred Monday (Nov. 27) on Swamp Sparrow Court in Caledon, Ont.

A spokesperson from the Town of Caledon said the call came in at approximately 3:30 a.m.

Four homes, which were not occupied but appeared ready for occupancy, were affected by the fire. Two houses were totally destroyed. One house collapsed and one will be taken down with an excavator as it is now unsafe, the spokesperson said.

One house had minor fire damage and the other house was damaged where the fire entered the attic and wall.

Eighteen fire trucks were on scene.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
