TRENT HILLS, ONT. — The Ontario government has announced it is beginning the process for the construction of a new Campbellford Memorial Hospital.
The hospital will serve patients in Trent Hills and across Northumberland, Peterborough and Hastings Counties.
The government will support early planning for the redevelopment of the hospital on a new site, states a release.
Once opened, the new facility would include:
- Expanded access to core programs and services, including a modernized emergency department and new inpatient medical wing.
- Increased inpatient capacity.
- Enhanced infection prevention and control measures.
As a next step, the Ministry of Health is working with Campbellford Memorial Hospital to complete early planning for this project, including determining bed numbers and square footage.
The current Campbellford Memorial Hospital is a 38-bed health care facility located in Trent Hills that provides services and community programs to approximately 40,000 residents across Northumberland, Peterborough and Hastings Counties.
The hospital has a special care unit, endoscopy surgical suite, diagnostic imaging department, laboratory, outpatient clinics, 24/7 emergency department and numerous community programs such as mental health, the Geriatric Assessment and Intervention Network Clinic and supportive housing.
