DCN and JOC celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day

Today (June 21) marks the 25th anniversary of celebrating the heritage, culture and achievements of Indigenous people in Canada.

First Nations, Inuit and Métis people have made great contributions to this country and to construction projects from coast to coast. The Daily Commercial News and Journal of Commerce have compiled a list of some of our coverage throughout the year to showcase the strides that are being made by Indigenous groups to bolster involvement in significant infrastructure and cultural projects. While it is evident that progress still needs to be made from government, industry, stakeholders and the like, these stories represent the strong Indigenous voice that is at the table ready to help shape Canada’s future.
