TORONTO — Ontario Building and Construction Tradeswomen (OBCT) is partnering with The Dirty Seahorse Workwear for a giveaway designed especially for tradeswomen.
OBCT is giving away a pair of The Dirty Seahorse’s Zenith Overalls, which are built specifically to fit the bodies of tradeswomen.
The Dirty Seahorse Workwear founder Dianne Finnigan is an entrepreneur and mother of a tradeswoman. She saw the struggle her daughter, Chantel, and other tradeswomen have in finding proper fitting workwear. Most tradeswomen have to wear clothing that was designed for men and doesn’t fit their bodies properly. She wanted to create good workwear built by women for women.
Many existing workwear brands do not offer women’s sizing or only offer limited options in their women’s collections, states a message by Finnigan on the company’s website.
“The Dirty Seahorse involves women in trades at every step of our journey. They have virtually helped us build out our clothing by building a community that is a supportive and safe space for tradeswomen to share their needs and desires. They have come up with the ideas and features they want and need for their clothing, and we translate these directly into our products,” she stated.
The giveaway is open to women in Ontario in the building and construction skilled trades. Entries will close on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 11:59 p.m. EST. The randomly drawn winner will be contacted via email on Thursday, Nov. 2.
