SAINTE-JULIE, QUE. — Quebec construction and telecommunications infrastructure firm Groupe Erivan Gecom has issued a statement after two of its employees fell several metres off a communications tower during a dismantling operation Aug. 16.
The tower is located in Candiac, Que. The workers were immediately taken to Montreal General hospital by first responders.
“Groupe Erivan Gecom takes the health and safety of its workers and the public seriously and intends to work closely with authorities to shed some light on the incident,” the statement said.
The firm said was in contact with the workers’ families and is working with investigating authorities.
