PCL Construction makes COVID POST Promise

PCL Construction makes COVID POST Promise

EDMONTON — PCL Construction has announced it is participating in the POST Promise, a COVID-19 initiative endorsed by the federal government.

The POST (People Outside Safely Together) Promise is a business-led program that involves a voluntary training and education program, noted a July 20 release. The program is intended to be used by companies to let both employees and customers know that proper health and safety measures are being followed to mitigate COVID-19 at its job and office sites.

The program centres on five strategies aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19: maintain social distancing; stay home if unwell; practise respiratory etiquette; clean and disinfect regularly; and wash and sanitize hands.

The PCL statement said the firm believes that “support of the POST Promise both within our workplaces and as a more widespread Canadian movement is an important step towards Canada managing responsibly through and moving carefully beyond the COVID-19 impacts. We applaud all businesses that have already made these commitments and invite businesses of all types to join PCL and others in making the POST Promise.”

Businesses supporting the program will display the Post Promise logo.

BOMA Canada, the Business Council of Canada and the Canadian Federation of Independent Business are also participating.

Dave Filipchuk, PCL’s president and CEO, commented, “We are proud to be part of a collective solution to help Canadians confidently and safely make their way back into the workplace and public spaces knowing their well-being is always top of mind.”
