Pop-up COVID clinic a resounding success: EllisDon
EllisDon, in partnership with Flynn, Modern Niagara and the Central Ontario Building Trades, recently hosted a COVID-19 vaccination pop-up clinic at its Mississauga headquarters from May 19 to 29. Just under 14,000 Ontarians were vaccinated, the company is reporting in a thank you volunteers, health care workers and staff.
Sault Ste. Marie scores big with funding for new twin-pad arena
The Ontario government is investing over $18 million to support the construction of a $25 million twin-pad arena in Sault Ste. Marie. The arena will replace the existing single-pad arena at the McMeeken Arena, increasing the square-footage and seating capacity for the Sault Ste. Marie community, states a release.
Governments invest in 12 recreation projects in Bas-Saint-Laurent Region
The federal government has announced over $7.5 million in funding for 12 projects in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region of Quebec. A total of over $2.2 million will be used to build a double gymnasium in Amqui, with changing rooms and bleachers. The Government of Canada is investing over $3.7 million in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region through the Community, Culture and Recreation Infrastructure stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program and the Government of Quebec is also investing over $3.7 million under its financial assistance program for recreational and sports infrastructure.
Groundbreaking takes place for real estate project in Dorval
North American Development Group (NADG) is hosting an official groundbreaking ceremony for its West Island real estate project at 11 a.m. today in Dorval, Que.
For this occasion, Sylvain Forte, vice-president of NADG, will reveal the details of the project and will proceed with a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony. The Mayor of Dorval Edgar Rouleau, members of the City of Dorval’s municipal council, the main professionals who worked on the concept and NADG representatives will be present for the event.
