Mammoet Canada Western receives fourth consecutive crane safety award

ETOBICOKE, ONT. — For the fourth consecutive year, Mammoet Canada Western has been named the recipient of the prestigious safety award from the Crane Rental Association of Canada (CRAC) for high standards of safety in 2020.

Mammoet offers equipment and technical expertise to carry out heavy lifting work safely and efficiently, states the company’s website.

The CRAC, established in 1997, advocates for the crane industry and Mammoet has been a member of the association since 2002.

Gijs (Gus) Verdeijen, vice-president and general manager for Mammoet Canada Western Ltd., has served as the 2019-2020 chair for the CRAC board of directors and was responsible for overseeing the association’s activities and providing direction during the pandemic.

“We are very proud to receive the CRAC Safety Award once more,” said Verdeijen in a statement. “To have our safety performance acknowledged by the industry leading organization of CRAC is an honour. I thank all of our hard-working staff across the region, who have been working under especially challenging conditions last year, for planning and executing each and every job with their and their colleagues’ safety at the forefront, allowing us to achieve a very high standard in safety performance and win this award.”
